As I sat down to write this I realized I had no idea where to begin. After all, it seems unlikely that someone from an emotionally zip-locked household prone to sudden outbursts with flying objects would ever become a subtle energy practitioner! But it was hardly a straight road I followed, and each step would bring me one step closer to what I was supposed to do.

Growing up I lived mostly in my head and in the fantastic worlds described in books. All children are intuitive, and I don't know that I was any more so than others who sometimes "see" things. I had a very active dream life, and was also hypersensitive to emotional currents, able to read people very well. This, like "magical thinking" can be unsettling to some grownups. I soon found it easier to hide that part of me, until eventually it was supplanted by self-doubt.
 

 
I caught the cultural wave of the 60s and rode it into the next decade to San Francisco, wiping out a time or two on the way. I visited psychics and astrologers, experienced biofeedback in its infancy, trying anything that would help keep the door to infinite possibility and magic ajar.

While my mind was expanding, however, my actual life was falling apart, due in large part to the self-destructive relationships I had a knack for creating.  Eastern philosophy and Hermetic Law would only much later impart to me that I was unconsciously recreating a familiar energy dynamic.

With self-esteem in the minus column,  I began to get debilitating migraines for which Western medicine had no explanation or cure. Miserable, frustrated and angry at "them" for not helping me, I soon realized the only hope I had of ending the torture was by taking charge of my own health.  So I tossed the pain pills, went on a cleansing fast, and then radically changed my diet. Within a few weeks, the headaches that had plagued me for years were gone.

Prompted by this unexpected success, I  began exploring various alternative therapies and learning more about the incredible power of the mind, slowly closing the perceived gap between physical and mental health in the process. This was the mid-80s, more than twenty years ago, and I've continued on this path never looking back.

In 1996 I met an extraordinary young nutritional intuitive who provided the emotional piece to the mind-body puzzle, also sharing an exciting new perspective on health and nutrition.  She helped me reclaim the intuitive gifts I'd long ago abandoned and introduced me to the wonders of the etheric world. Flower essences, essential oils and crystals soon became my new tools. The magic was back.

At that same time I also turned a lifelong fascination with astrology into an in-depth study. Here was the energetic explanation to the logic and order of the Universe I'd long sensed.  Learning how to work in alignment rather than at odds with the energy patterns we interact with daily was extremely empowering. I continued studying and working with the young woman and then with her mother, an amazing wise woman and gifted intuitive herself who became another magical gateway to understanding the interconnectedness of everything as well as my closest friend.

With the Millennium fast approaching, I was finally ready to take the next step so I began giving astrological readings, incorporating flower essences, oils, crystals, tuning forks and hands-on energy work.  Over the last few years, this evolved into the vibrational tuning sessions I conduct today.

After working as a photographic makeup artist for more than twenty years and publishing three books for the beauty industry, PJ began turning her passion for healing work into a reality. Today she works as an intuitive flower essence therapist and astrologer in New York City helping people regain and maintain their emotional equilibrium and strengthen their mind-body connections.

 

PJ is also a skilled craftsperson with an entrepreneurial streak and a love of color.
